Molina Healthcare of South Carolina Recognizes Local Heroes at Its 2nd Annual Community Champions Awards

Molina Healthcare of South Carolina recently celebrated the outstanding service of six local residents at its 2nd Annual Community Champions Awards. The event, held at the Founders Hall Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site in Charleston, featured dinner, entertainment and the awards ceremony. Each honoree was nominated by a community-based organization and received a trophy and a $1,000 grant to donate to a nonprofit of his or her choice.
This year’s Community Champions winners and their grantees are as follows:
John Flenory (Moncks Corner) – Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County
Jaelyn Ellis (Blythewood) – EdVenture
Reverend Hattie Graham (Loris) – Kingston Lake Education and Business Center
David Wright (Columbia) – Cancer Center for Colon Research at USC
Nelly Jolley (Irmo) – Richland School District Two Education Foundation
Dr. Deborah Greenhouse (Columbia) – FoodShare South Carolina
The Community Champions Awards program highlights the extraordinary service and dedication of everyday heroes in their communities and was established to honor the memory of Dr. C. David Molina, Molina Healthcare’s founder, who was passionate about helping others.
